The project: Northparkes Mine is a copper-gold mining project located approximately twenty-seven (27) kilometres north-northwest of Parkes in central west New South Wales. Mining began at the site in November 1993, in 2017 a primary ventilation upgrade was proposed for one of its active mining areas, E48 Block Cave. As part of the mine development strategy, a new five (5) metre diameter exhaust ventilation raise was constructed, and a primary ventilation system was installed providing long term ventilation to support the mine.

Scope of Supply: Zitrón’s scope of works compromised the engineering, design, construction, delivery and installation of the switch rooms, MCCs, VSDs, transformers, instrumentation and controls, for two (2) primary fans.

Zitrón was also responsible for all electrical and civil works required to commission and test the fans, in addition to providing training to the mine’s personnel.
