m/v NADA - Livestock Carrier Marine

Owner: Rassem Shipping
Builder: 3 MAJ
Converted: CSSC Chengxi Shipyard

The Owner of livestock carrier NADA took the challenge to convert a container carrier in what would be the biggest ship for carrying live animals by sea.

Ventilation onboard a livestock carrier is of outmost importance, as a mistake in the calculations may result in a high cattle mortality ration due to suffocation. In addition, she was the first ship to comply with the AMSA standard, under which the flow speed in any measuring point of the cattle decks must be equal or higher than 0.5 m/s. Zitrón can assist the Owner on this respect by carrying out a CFD calculation that will simulate the behavior of air flow onboard.

All fans are of the swing out type, hot dip galvanized. Zitrón has supplied the full ventilation system onboard.

Main particulars of the fans as follows
